Hazel Colón Vázquez

Her professional acumen has earned her the recognition as a seasoned cultural strategist with extensive hands-on experience in the Global Creative Industries ecosystem. Colón earned a
Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature and a Master of Arts in Cultural Agency and Arts Administration from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus, with an internship in the Cultural Agents Initiative at Harvard University.
Colón currently teaches a core course on Strategic Management for Cultural Enterprises at the same master's Program she graduated from. She went on to take leadership roles as Executive Director of Inversión Cultural and the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture’s Exhibitions as well as the Editorials Programs. Hazel has advanced her professional career as a Senior Consultant of multiple private and public organizations on cultural strategy and development of her client portfolio which includes Musical Arts Corporation, Banco Popular Foundation, amongst others.
Immersed in the local and global creative ecosystem where she remains loyal to her mission to promote cultural & creative industries inclusion in the local economies and their access to new markets. Hazel Colón also co-founded the cultural enterprise MECA International Art Fair. Hazel currently serves as the Programs Director at the Titín Foundation, where she is focused on initiatives that improve the quality of life for individuals and communities by supporting initiatives that increase education, promote access to the arts, and strengthen the nonprofit sector.
