Bianca Ortiz has a Major in Art History and a Masters in Arts Administration from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus. She has worked at the Museum of History, Anthropology and Art at the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus as Assistant Registrar and the National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts and Culture in Chicago as Director of Exhibitions and Programming. With 15 years of working experience in the museum field focusing both in collections and exhibitions management, she joined the MAP team as Chief Registrar in 2019.

 

For three years she has led the Registrar Department, directing several grant funded projects focused in the museum’s permanent collection, and fostering teamwork in overseeing the preservation and promotion of the collection, managing local and international loans, and shipping logistics, and supporting in the process of exhibition coordination and installation. She has also worked on curatorial projects through submitting proposals, researching, and coordinating group exhibitions in cultural institutions such as: Museo del Arsenal de la Marina Española, Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico, the Ukrainian Institute of Modern Art and the National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts and Culture in Chicago.
