Hilda Teresa Ayala González is a dedicated professional in the field of library and archival sciences, with a passion for preserving cultural heritage and facilitating access to information. With a Master's degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Puerto Rico and a Master's in Archival Studies from the University of British Columbia, she has honed her expertise in the management and preservation of diverse collections. Previously serving as the Archivera General de Puerto Rico, Hilda Teresa has been instrumental in leading initiatives to digitize archival materials, enhance environmental conditions for collections, and secure funding for preservation projects. Her work has been recognized and supported by prestigious organizations such as the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Council on Library and Information Resources and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. Hilda Teresa's commitment to the field extends beyond her professional roles. She is actively engaged with academic, cultural and public institutions, where she shares her knowledge with information professionals and the community. As a founding member of the Alianza Cultural para Emergencias de Puerto Rico and a member of the Red de Archivos de Puerto Rico, she contributed to collaborative efforts aimed at disaster preparedness and cultural preservation. Through her research, publications, and presentations, she advocates for best practices in archival management, disaster response, and digital preservation. Her contributions to conferences, webinars, and publications underscore her dedication to advancing the field and ensuring that cultural heritage remains accessible for future generations.
