Alyssa Corrigan-Cuadrado has been an integral member of the National Museum of Puerto Rican Arts and Culture (NMPRAC) since 2017, beginning as a Volunteer Researcher before advancing to Director of Research and Development in 2018. In her current role, she manages all aspects of grants administration, including drafting proposals, preparing submission materials, and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements. Beyond securing critical funding for NMPRAC, she plays a crucial role in the museum’s pursuit of national accreditation from the American Alliance of Museums, a major milestone that NMPRAC anticipates achieving by the end of this year.
Her contributions extend to the archival management of NMPRAC’s permanent collections, as well as conducting historical research for institutional projects as needed. In addition to her professional work, Corrigan-Cuadrado is also a practicing artist who documents community life through film photography. Her work has been featured in multiple exhibitions over the past two years.
Originally from Connecticut and raised in Florida, she earned a Bachelor’s degree in History with a minor in Latin American Studies, along with a Museum Studies Certificate from Northwestern University. She is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science, to become a Digital Archivist dedicated to preserving the existence of Chicago’s Puerto Rican community and beyond.
